The penetrating silane-siloxane barrier must be applied first to treat the substrate at the pore level where chloride is entering. On inland properties at Abacoa, Indiantown Road, or Donald Ross Road, this preparatory step is not required; the primary exposure is wet season thermal cycling rather than continuous Inlet chloride.
